In the early hours of Wednesday February 5th protesters “Okada” riders and miscreants known as “Area Boys” in iyana Ipaja area of Lagos engaged the police in a violent confrontation over enforcement of the recent ban by the Lagos State government on Okada & others. This protest resulted to burning of Lastma vehicles.

According to report on Jomotv the protest was as a result of the ban on motorcycles known as Okada and tricycles known as keke “maruwa”. Watch full video below.

One of the protesters told Jomotv.com that iyana Ipaja axis is not among the restricted areas including egbeda down to igando and ikotun but yet they have been seriously molested by the police and Lastma officers in these areas, seizing their bikes and beating them up.
